Finally, nap time...

Charlie's first two and half months he refused to sleep during the day.  This made things very difficult as you can imagine.  Jake and I would have to tag team to even go to the bathroom.  Poor guy just hated sleeping on his back.  He would move in his sleep, and then get scared because he felt like he was falling, so it would wake him up.  When he sleeps on his stomach he feels like he is laying on our chest, which he does at night.  It look three months to figure this out.  I was hesitant at first to have him laying on his stomach because of breathing, but I see that whenever he gets himself where he can't breath he immediately moves.  But paranoid momma is always watching him so so carefully. So now time to edit photos and catch up on emails.  Can't wait to see his big smile when he wakes up!

Fourth of July

 A little past due...but what I thought would be a challenging Fourth of July with a new baby, it turned out be pretty smooth thanks to BabyBjorn and with the help of family.  My hubby and I managed to get everything done!  And what a fun time it was.  I always love doing Fourth of July at our house because it gives me an excuse to get our house all nice, paint, and get those sofas that we have been wanting ever since we moved into our house.  I love any reason to decorate...Is it almost Christmas yet?? ;)  

Anyways, we had a great dinner, had water balloon fights, and homemade ice cream and fireworks.  But as our tradition started last year, we always end the evening with "light painting" (last few photos).  My husband had to drive all the way to Fullerton I think it was to get Sparklers for this!  Light Painting is when you have an illuminated object in the dark and leave your camera's shutter open.  This picks up all the light and creates an awesome photo.  Probably one of my favorite parts of the night.  

Can't wait for the next reason to celebrate.

Charlie - 2 Months

Can't believe our little Charlie is almost 2 months old.  I never knew that you could love something so much.  Each day his little smile, laugh and the way he looks straight into my eyes just make me MELT.  So blessed to have such a healthy and happy baby.

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Fun

My family and I are very involved within our church's Youth Ministry.  A great way to get to those teens hearts is through their stomach's.  So my brother, Adam, and I have become the dessert chefs at the big events.  Our latest task was making enough chocolate covered strawberries for over 100 people.  We made a total of 230 chocolate covered strawberries with white chocolate drizzle on top.  Adam and I together probably could have eaten ALL 230, but we didn't...  Adam and I have a great little system down when making them.  

The grocery store has this amazing microwaveable chocolate that makes this just so easy to do.  Adam is the chocolate maker (I am banned from making it, because no matter how easy it is to make, I seem to aways burn it), and I am the chocolate dipper.  With that system we knocked all these guys out in about an hour, and sure had a lot of fun while doing it.

This is from a different event around Christmas time that Adam and I did the desserts for.  This time instead of our signature White Chocolate Drizzle Strawberries we made Cake Pops testing out my new Cake Pop maker...which is amazing by the way.

Keepin' Busy - Headshot Photography

The doctor said baby can come ANY DAY now.  Each morning I wake up and wonder if today will be the day, but that can drive you nuts!  However, if there is one thing that keeps your mind off when you'll be going into labor, it is staying busy with lots of photoshoots and photo editing.  I really don't mind the distraction.

Adult Headshots

I have had the privilege of meeting and working with some great people this past week.  This client choose one of my packages with a stylist.  I love when clients book packages with my stylist because not only do they get to sit and relax while their hair and make up gets done (I mean what girl doesn't enjoy that), but it produces some great looking photos as well.  You can tell my client here is just glowing!  She was so comfortable in front of the camera...and it really shows!

Little Boy Headshots

Had a great shoot with this little one!  So easy to work with and was such a ham in front of the camera. He made my job easy.  Love the way his pictures turned out!  It was so hard to just choose a few to post.
